Before taking my role at UVA, I was Associate Collegiate Professor of History at Virginia Tech. I was also a faculty fellow in Faculty Affairs at the Office of the Provost, where I led initiatives for faculty as writers.
For over fifteen years, I've worked with faculty and graduate students as teachers and writers. Their work matters, and they do, too. I am committed to helping people craft purpose-centered, sustainable careers.
My book, Sustainable Teaching: Time Management for Passionate Educators, is under advance contract with the "Teaching and Learning in Higher Education" series at the University of Oklahoma Press.

I've facilitated and co-facilitated scholarly writing retreats and teaching workshops at universities such as Duke University and Virginia Tech, and for organizations such as the CNY Humanities Corridor. With my co-PI Jennifer Ahern-Dodson, we research the faculty writers that we serve.
